Valerie Russell Emmott

I grew up travelling from country to country in a diplomatic family with parents from different countries, heritages and faiths. This taught me to appreciate differences among people and to adapt to frequent change. Following my MBA (1991), I worked in the telecommunications business doing strategic projects until I discovered my passion for training and facilitation. CEJI invited me to attend the pilot trainer certification event for Religious Diversity and Anti-Discrimination in 2006. Since then, it's been a privilege to deliver this 5-day trainer Belieforama training programme across Europe as well as to be involved in both the 'Overcoming Antisemitism' (which I deliver every summer) and 'Overcoming Islamophobia' programmes.

Living in the UK, I am very active in dialogue events that bring people together from different faiths and cultures. I have worked for Salaam Shalom Media and Equality South West. In addition to delivering trainings for staff of organisations and adult community learners, I am a community campaigner for greater equality, accessibility and inclusion for all. I work with partners across Europe from my UK base, Emmott Solutions, in Bristol, England. I currently chair the Bristol Holocaust Memorial Day steering group and the Avon Council of Christians and Jews. My additional languages are French, Spanish and some Portuguese.
