Quinceañera is the celebration of a girl's fifteenth birthday in parts of Latin America and elsewhere in communities of immigrants from Latin America. This celebration marks the transition from childhood to young womanhood and can take different forms, depending on the country where it is celebrated. The celebration generally involves music, walzing and carnival dancing and rituals involving candles and flowers, all of which make reference to the number 15.
